In the previous several years, Netflix has produced a slew of films, but few have a cast as impressive as Red Notice, the streaming service’s latest offering.
The action thriller stars Dwayne Johnson in his first-ever made-for-streaming feature, and he’s accompanied by big-name support in the form of Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds and Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot — with the film’s budget rumoured to be in the $200 million range.
In the movie, Johnson plays FBI agent John Hartley, who needs the help of the world’s greatest art thief, Nolan Booth (Reynolds), to capture the world’s most wanted art thief, known as “The Bishop” (Gadot).
Think of it as “Hobbs & Shaw” meets “The Thomas Crown Affair.”
The movie also stars Chris Diamantopoulos (“Silicon Valley”) and Ritu Arya.

Johnson’s character tracks down the two wanted criminals in the 2-minute teaser, which includes lots of Reynolds’ usual humour as well as glimpses of a few big action scenes, including a dramatic jump through a stained-glass window.

When production was halted for six months last year owing to the pandemic, filming was only halfway completed, but the star-studded crime thriller has now been completed, and a release date has been set.
